Saving On Your Energy Bill

Check out the Costco Financial Connection Magazine Jan. 2009 "Ask Suze Orman, the dangers of doing nothing in 2009." To quote Suze in her article: "It's time to scale back the calling plan and the cable plan to save as much on your utility bills as possible. No more lip service. Do it."
Now how can we save on our utility bills? Can we actually turn down the heat with such bitter cold weather? By the way, what's going on with this weather? I thought it was supposed to be getting hotter not colder. What is this climate change about anyway?
Well, I'll tell you what I think; our summers will get hotter and our winters colder. So, prepare for those bitter cold winters, power outages and do as Suze says "Do it". Get ready, but how? We can start by doing what people did in the past. This cycle isn't new, it happened before over and over again and those who were ready where able to get through it. Ask Grandma, or if you're lucky, Greatgrandma…Wool.

In the past it was wool; socks, sweaters, shawls, coats, blankets (for sleeping, and for covering the windows to keep the heat in and the cold out). The only way we can save money on our energy bills and prepare for power outages…Wool…pile on the wool.

Wool is long-lasting and the investment pays off in the long run. Did you know that in Europe most people do not have central heating in their homes. Europeans prefer wool in their blankets to keep warm. Here in the U.S. we are going to have to "re-think" how we are going to get through the winters and keep our energy bills down. If we are going green what better than wool.
